A castle from 13th century overlooks a town of Šentjur from a steep hill. It had many owners, Counts of Celje were just one of them. It became their property in 1359. From 1426 to 1541 it belonged to Lichtenbergs. In 1635 the castle was raided by uprising peasants.

Today the castle is in ruins but there are still some roman and gothic portals and windows preserved.
